KB40915 - Microsoft Critical Update for Windows 10, Windows 8 and Windows 7

May 14, 2017 - Hackers found a vulnerability in all versions of Windows including  Win 10, 8 and 7. A massive Ransomware attack took place in Europe over this past weekend. It is expected to get worse today as people return to work, they are calling this Blue Monday.

As a result, Microsoft released the following Security Bulletin yesterday -  This security update resolves vulnerabilities in Microsoft Windows. The most severe of the vulnerabilities could allow remote code execution (taking control of your computer)  if an attacker sends specially crafted messages to a Microsoft Server Message Block 1.0 (SMBv1) server.

More details and where to download the security patches are here.
